APS 45th NZCMRR Classic Motorcycle Racing FestivalFriday January 31 - Sunday February 2 2025
The NZCMRR Committee is pleased to announce the dates and format for the 2025 APS Classic Motorcycle Racing Festival, which will take place at Manfeild over the first weekend of February next year. This will be a THREE DAY EVENT, run entirely by the NZCMRR.
Practice and qualifying will be held on the Friday. Riders must qualify on the Friday in order to take part in the racing which will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Key dates for your calendar are:
Friday January 31st – Two rounds of practice, one round of qualifying. Spit roast and Championship prizegiving.
Saturday February 1st – Championship Points and TT Racing. Gold coin BBQ and TT prizegiving.
Sunday February 2nd – Championship Points RacingThere will be a preferential entry period to allow regular NZCMRR participants seven days to secure an entry before entries open more widely.
The preferential entry period will be open only to Club members active in the 2024 Championship Rounds – that means entrants who have competed at, or been an official volunteer at, two or more other NZCMRR championship rounds throughout 2024 (excluding the 2024 APS Classic Festival). We will also reserve some entries for invited riders/bikes and for riders joining us from CAMS in the South Island. Entries will then be open for a further two weeks to everyone.
If you cannot race enough this year to qualify for preferential entry please consider volunteering. There are always jobs to be done to keep the racing going!
Entries will open in November and close in early December.
To help us fairly manage the huge demand from riders, entries will open and close much earlier than previous years. Exact dates will be advertised soon. Watch this space and your email!
This is necessary to allow time for us to complete the huge amount of admin work required to process all entries and will allow our volunteer team more time plan an event that creates a great experience for both riders and spectators.
We will run a similar waitlisting system as this year. Once any race group is booked out, entrants will be placed in Regularity Class pending a space becoming available in their appropriate race group.
The NZCMRR Committee is working through a long list of improvements and new ideas for the 2025 event. Keeping costs reasonable for entrants is high on that list. Other key areas include pit allocation and facilities, maximising track time for riders, camping, after-hours competitor access and many more.
Pits and garages are handled by our club this time around, and will all be allocated. We will allocate based on conversations we have had with riders, and at the point of entry you will be able to communicate what sort of pit or garage you would like, and who you would like to be pitted with. This does not guarantee you a space, but we will do our best to try and get you where you want to be.
Early warning - for health & safety reasons, to create space for everyone and to ensure we put on a great show for our paying guests, we will need to significantly reduce the number of vehicles and race trailers which are parked in the immediate pit area.
We will be running 8 Race Groups (Classic 250, 350, 500 & Open, Post Classic Senior, F2, Junior, and Sidecars) and 1 Regularity Group, with a maximum of 40 on track in each group. Race Groups will be limited to 40 bikes on grid. Entry information, gate & camp passes and vehicle passes will be posted out 3 weeks prior to the event.
Event souvenir programmes will be on sale at the gate along with event merchandise. Walk through the pits to meet the racers and see their bikes, visit the Britten pits, and other displays.
Only vehicles with 2025 Pit passes will be allowed into the Pits area. There is no track walk!
We’re looking forward to hosting another amazing APS Classic Festival with you all in 2025, please keep an eye out for future updates.
